Rebecca Stanley
(she/her) Family Lawyer/Mediator – Fraser Valley/Vancouver
Rebecca is a calming and wise presence for her clients in the tumultuous times of separation and divorce. She empowers individuals through these major life changes, drawing on her background in family law, mediation, and her experience as a former chaplain and pastor. During law school at Allard Hall at UBC, Rebecca worked as an intern at the BC Provincial Court and was trained as a Small Claims Court mediator. Upon graduation, Rebecca served as a judicial law clerk with the BC Supreme Court for a year, assisting six judges and sitting on the Court’s Family Law Committee. She articled at a large downtown law firm, junioring on 16 weeks of trials and working in family law, personal injury, insurance and employment law, to name a few. Rebecca began a full practice as a family lawyer at a mid-size firm in the Fraser Valley, before moving back to Vancouver, where she has worked exclusively in family law at Connect Family Law for more than 6 years.
Rebecca extends her expertise to mentoring law students and junior lawyers, both formally through meetings and events, and informally through everyday interactions. She has given leadership to the Mentoring Committee of Collaborative Divorce Vancouver, is the chair of the Collaborative Association of the Lower Mainland, is a guest lecturer at Allard Hall and was recently a trainer at the Collaborative Roster Society’s Basic Collaborative Training. Having moved to Cultus Lake, she continues her legal, mediation and mentoring services virtually from her home office, engaging with various professional associations. Beyond her career, Rebecca enjoys nature with her husband, dogs, and grown children, and is also dedicated to a non-profit organization's board to enhance student housing at UBC.

“I have had the fortune of benefitting from Rebecca’s mentorship program since November 2019. I would define her mentorship program as being “all-inclusive” where I not only found guidance for legal aspects of practicing law but also for efficient business strategies aimed at continued growth of my law practice. Following every session with Rebecca, I felt relieved and headed towards the right direction. I admire Rebecca’s commitment as a mentor (and lawyer) and highly recommend her program.”
